Purchasers of new laundry items are now looking for increased efficiency in terms of energy and water consumption but they also want to save themselves time and effort in their everyday routines.
That is why more and more machines are more efficient than ever before with larger capacity drums available. More programmes are being produced to cater for personal needs such as baby care, sportswear, work soiled items and bulky linen.
Previously, emphasis was on increasing our standard of living through social and materialistic means but we are now seeing a shift towards improving our quality of life through reducing the cost of running a home. Therefore machines that optimise water consumption through intelligent means now significantly reduce the energy and time taken up in washing clothes.
Of course laundry is not all about washing clothes as consideration has to be given to drying them as well. Because of our unreliable weather the tumble dryer industry has had to drag itself into the 21st Century and with the advent of sensor dry technology there are now both vented and condenser type dryers that will turn themselves off once they detect that the clothes have reached a certain level of dryness.
The benefits of this are immense as, not only do we live in a time poor world with little time to wait for a dryer to run its full cycle, but with energy costs spiralling out of control it is a sound investment to purchase a machine that, whilst being the largest consumer of electricity in the house, knows when to turn itself off.
Of course not everyone has the space for separate washing machines and tumble dryers and that is where the washer dryer is still required. It is true that they have experienced a raw deal down the years but with improved technology many washer dryers now have larger capacities for both washing and drying clothes than many other stand alone machines. Many washer dryers also have the new sensor dry facility that makes them a valuable investment for any kitchen.
So why not come along and see us. With over 50 assorted laundry products on display we should be able to help you meet your ideal Soap Star.
Due to current lifestyle trends the perception of the Dishwasher as being a luxury item has developed into it now being an important part of any kitchen. Indeed it is doubtful whether any new house would be built without allowing for a dishwasher and also nearly all kitchen renovations now accommodate one in their design.
Probably the biggest standout against dishwashers used to be the hygiene aspect but more and more research is suggesting that the water used for washing up in a bowl may not be hot enough to kill bacteria, thus allowing it to be present in and around kitchen sinks. Dishwashers are, therefore, becoming increasingly regarded as more hygienic and add to that the increasing advancement both economically and environmentally and they are becoming more and more of a must-buy.

With more and more time being spent in the kitchen and an increased leaning towards open-plan living the need for more impeccably designed refrigeration is picking up. More people now want refrigeration that is aesthetically pleasing with added features such as touch control panels and water and ice dispensers in the doors.
Of course not everyone fits into that category and there is also an increasing requirement for that streamline effect in the kitchen by integrating the appliances behind kitchen doors.
Whatever the style required consumers can rest assured knowing that their appliance has improved over the past years and the energy efficiency is now guaranteed at least A+. This is just one of the features that have been implemented to address the growing issue of food wastage and of course helping towards reducing electricity bills.
Whilst the design of today’s fridge freezers have changed dramatically and will continue to impress there will always be a home for our old favourite the combi fridge freezer. Not everyone has the capacity or inclination to purchase a bigger and better model and the straightforward need to swap a like size unit can always be addressed.
There are an abundance of 50cm, 55cm and 60cm versions available in heights varying from under 140cm to over 200cm high. Numerous colours are now available but the old faithfuls of white, black, silver and stainless steel will always be around.
You may want a back-up chest freezer for your garage or an American Style Fridge Freezer to be a focal point in your kitchen. Or you may prefer a separate fridge and freezer to sit behind a kitchen door or a freestanding 70/30 fridge freezer with more fridge space than freezer to sit into a gap. Whatever your requirement just keep your cool and we will see what we can do for you.
This product area is becoming increasingly popular not just because more people are choosing to entertain at home but as lifestyles become more hectic and stressful a growing number now prefer to relax at home after a busy day with a glass of wine.
For many people wine cabinets are a way towards improving their drinking experience and of course preserving their wine. For others they are aspirational products whose owners are proud of their collection who want to display their wine in the best possible way.
The wine cabinet market has evolved into two separate categories. At the premium end there are multi-zone cabinets that offer separate temperature areas for red, rose and white wines to ensure that they are served at the correct temperature. The technology allows control of temperature and humidity, and has LED lighting and low vibration compressors.
The entry category is represented by less sophisticated wine and drinks chillers varying in size from 150cm versions holding at least 6 bottles to 45cm, 60cm and larger types that operate on a single temperature.
Mid market brand Caple offer a comprehensive range of wine cabinets with a 12 month guarantee that only covers domestic use but also commercial usage that would include bars, restaurants, shops etc. The Caple Wi6225 from their Sense range features dual zones and electronic temperature controls ensuring that the cabinet will maintain exactly the right temperature throughout.
On the other hand the CDA FWC152 Under Counter Wine Cooler is a handy 150cm size that is very useful for filling a small gap when designing a kitchen. It holds 7 bottles and is available in a black or stainless steel finish.
So, whether you want to create a focal point in your kitchen, or simply want to take the pressure of your fridge freezer, let us know your requirements and we help you find the product that is just right for you.
Although it has been on the market for over 20 years Induction cooking is only now really being considered one of the greatest technological advancements in the kitchen.
The absence of induction hobs from the high street is probably partly due to the high prices commanded by the products but at long last this issue is being addressed by the advent of new products with improved features, clearer understanding of the product and of course lower cost prices.
In case you have never heard of Induction it is the most responsive form of cooking, thus giving the user a high level of precision and control. Normal Ceramic Hobs heat the pans by way of an element which heats the glass underneath the pans. However Induction Hobs contain a cooking element with a powerful magnetic coil which creates a high-frequency electromagnetic field. When a pan made of a ferrous metal is placed on the hob the element turns on and transfers energy direct to the pan (not the glass). This heating process is twice as fast as traditional gas hobs.
The obvious drawback is that you have to purchase compatible pans but once you have them you will soon reap the benefits.
For a start there is the safety aspect as heating cannot take place unless a suitable pan is placed on the cooking zone. Also there is also almost no wasted heat (less than 10% which is 3 to 4 times less than gas cooking). Furthermore as the glass does not reach the dangerously high heat of normal ceramic hobs it is easier to wipe up spills.
Induction cooking is not just confined to stand alone hobs as many manufacturers now offer Induction versions of their Range Cookers at a reasonable premium. Indeed the Rangemaster Excel 110 offers the consumer a 110cm wide Induction cooking surface, a multi function oven, a fan assisted oven, a separate grill and even a Slow Oven. It is quite the complete cooker in our opinion.
It is fair to say that people who have enjoyed the benefits of Induction very rarely go back to other forms of cooking so if you would like to find out more why not get in touch with us.
Unfortunately not every kitchen or utility room has the space to accommodate a separate washing machine and tumble dryer and there will, therefore, always be the need for washer dryers in this country.
It is true that they have experienced a bad press down the years and it is probably through misuse that the machines earned their poor name. Some of the lesser spec models require the user to remove half of the wash load prior to operating the dryer with the remaining load having to be put back in again to be dried separately. Of course not everyone has the patience for such a process and the temptation has always been there to overload the machine, bringing about inevitable consequences.
However as long as the consumer is aware of the need to follow protocol then there are excellently priced washer dryers on the market such as the Haier 6 + 3kg machine that is priced under £350.00 and is covered by a full 2 years guarantee. This is ideal for use in rented accommodation where misuse may be more common but will be covered by the manufacture during the first 2 years.
For housesholds that require washer dryers with larger loads we recommend the Hoover VHW656. This machine not only boasts a 6 + 5kg capacity but it also has a 1600 spin speed that means not only are the clothes are slightly drier after the wash cycle but it also has a sensor dry facility so that you save energy on the drying cycle.
Should you require an integrated washer dryer we recommend the Fagor FWD612it that has a 1200 spin speed with a 6 + 4kg capacity. It has 16 programmes with an advanced balance system that reduces vibrations, ideal for installation into a new kitchen. It also has a full 5 year guarantee, subject to registration, and is very competitively priced.
Therefore if you are looking for that 2-in-1 solution give us the chance to see if we can help you with your search.
